Quality of Life Model

Quality of Life (QoL) refers to the experiences one has on a daily basis.  High quality refers to being engaged with others in meaningful daily activities and having a positive experience.

Quality of Life is a subjective image that differs for everyone.  How you define quality in your life may be different than how I define quality in mine.  However, each of us has the opportunity to define and carry out our own values—which enables us to experience a high quality of life.  This right is overlooked in the lives of many of the Individuals we serve.  The Quality of Model was developed to implement the principles of Gentle Teaching, giving Individuals with disabilities the right to define and carry out their own values.

At Globe Star, we aim to mentor Individuals with disabilities in achieving a quality of life that fosters interdependence, or the quality of one's life with help.
